Paint Debate ???

I have been very busy working on our house and haven't had time to post, this spring weather has us working like little bee's. Which brings me to this post. We are having a debate on the color to paint the house. The colors have been agreed upon, but which color goes where has not. So I would like some input.
The roof is a red metal roof, so that is set, and the doors will all be red. Should the house be the cream or the green. If cream, should the trim be green or black? If the house is green , should the trim be cream or black? I also have a large porch, 80ft. long, with several pieces of porch furniture, also to be painted. I'm thinking green house, red door, cream trim, red and black furniture, what do ya think?

I'm not qualified to comment, as I've never seen your house, and all your other readers more than likely have.

I'll just offer a couple of things: (a) different house types wear their colors differently... ergo, why I can't/won't comment.

(b) My ex- and I had a "wild hair" idea about painting our 1920's ear faux Victorian some wild shade of blue. We put up a large swath of that paint on the side of the house so we could "evaluate" our choice. In the end we decided the blue didn't work and went with a more conventional color... a reddish-brown.

The neighbors brought us casseroles and other covered dishes as the house was being painted, each one with a "thank you" card for NOT choosing the blue, and re-enforced with smiles and verbal thanks. True story.

I vote for a cream house with black trim.

We once moved into a house that was painted pepto bismol pink. When we started painting it a nice tan and rust color, the neighbors stood would come by and applaud.

I have seen a house painte a peachy orange color with black trim that looked just pretty cool - right up your alley.

Ack! I'm no help in this kind of stuff. I say just paint the whole thing battleship gray and be done with it. (Not really)

I think I like the idea of the house painted cream with the green trim. I like your color choices. Wouldn't your red roof look awesome with Lou's pink house? Have fun painting!

Buck: LOL wild blue hhmm.. You can see a small portion of the house in the horse pic. Great story !!!

Lou: "Peachy orange", you know me all to well, I'm sure it would be lovely on your house !!!!!

Ash: That was my first choice, everyone says it will get dirty to easy, but I like that crisp look.

Becky: Sorry, you have my husbands taste. LOL just kidding.

Perfection: Yes, it would be just lovely, again on Lou's house maybe.

Thanks for all your input. I will share the results with my family, the girls are leaning toward green house. Such a hard decision, I will live with this color a long time because I'm not repainting for 20 years.

BUT...if you painted your house DARK brown and your roof green it would look Lincoln loggy...OOH OOH and then we could see if Becky would let us use a bunch of mannequins, dress'em up like indians and shoot'em down with paintball guns! Yup, that's my vote.
